1Shape

The shape of your opening. The rectangular shape is the most common.

2Application type

Where will your made-to-measure fly screen be installed? Window, door, sliding door, pergola or skylight: your choice determines the model and the price.

3Fly screen colour

This colour applies to your entire screen: mesh, border and adhesive velcro. Black or white, your choice.

The chosen colour applies to the whole screen. Need a different mesh or border? Customise them in the next step.
4Mesh, border & fixing

By default, everything matches the colour chosen in step 6. Customise each element if needed.

5Openings (magnetic separations)

The type and number of magnetic separations. Default: a central separation. An offset separation has no imposed side (right or left).

6Mounting type

How will you fix your fly screen? Each mounting type involves a different way of measuring.

Standard mounting: do NOT add any centimetres to your dimensions. Measure frame to frame and enter these dimensions as they are in step 5.
7Dimensions & quantity

Enter your dimensions in centimetres according to the chosen mounting type.

Made-to-measure fly screens, built to your exact opening

A window that is just too wide, a sliding patio door, a crooked roof light or an arched top: not every opening fits a standard size. A made-to-measure fly screen from Moskera is cut and sewn to your own measurements, to the centimetre. You get a screen that follows the opening exactly, so a real barrier against mosquitoes, with no gap and no slack.

In practice, going custom changes three things. First the tension of the mesh: an oversized screen creases, and insects slip through those creases; an undersized one leaves a gap down one side. Then the seal at the bottom, the most common weak point of off-the-shelf sizes. And finally how long it lasts, because a taut mesh does not rub or distort. Fibreglass mesh, MagnetX™ magnetic closure, fitted without drilling in about ten minutes.

How to configure your custom fly screen

The configurator above walks you through it in a few steps:

  1. Choose the shape: rectangular, arched, round or asymmetric.
  2. Set the type of opening: window, door, sliding patio door or pergola, roof window.
  3. Choose the colour and the mesh: black, white, light grey or brown, with three levels of mesh transparency.
  4. Measure according to your fitting method: each fitting (on the frame, inside the reveal, on the facade, with a top return) has its own measuring method, shown on screen. Not sure? Follow our guide to measure your opening properly.
  5. Add to basket and order online: your fly screen is cut to your dimensions and delivered to your door.

Unsure about sizes? See which size to choose. Prefer a ready-made standard size? Those are in the configurator too.

Custom window screens

This is the most common request, and the one where the gap between standard and custom shows up fastest. Window frames are rarely true, especially in older housing: a few millimetres of difference between top and bottom is enough to leave a way in. A custom window screen is therefore built to your real measurements and held by a self-adhesive magnetic strip around the frame. No hook-and-loop on this model, nothing to drill, and it comes off without a mark at the end of the season.

It suits casement and sliding windows alike, single or double, and lifts off in seconds so you can clean the glass. It is the most requested model in rented homes, precisely because nothing is altered. See the magnetic window screen, from 29.99 €. For a roof window the fixing differs; we covered that case in our guide to a made-to-measure roof window screen.

Custom screen doors and sliding patio doors

On a doorway you use ten times a day, what matters is no longer just the fit but the self-closing seal. Our door models carry magnets down the full height: you walk through with your hands full and the screen shuts tight behind you. Standard sizes from 70 to 120 × 210 cm, and three custom formats beyond that (up to 150 × 230, up to 200 × 260, then no limit). See the magnetic screen door, from 29.99 €.

Beyond roughly 150 cm wide you move up a range. A custom sliding patio door screen then works as several panels joined by magnetic seams: from 1 to 5 separations and more, depending on how many walk-throughs you want. Two details make the difference at those widths: MagnetX™ magnets of 15 cm instead of 4, and galvanised steel gravity bars along the whole bottom edge, which stop the mesh lifting in the wind. The format runs to 600 cm wide and high, with an unlimited size beyond that. See the large opening range, from 99.99 €.

Every shape, including the awkward ones

Made-to-measure earns its keep on unusual openings, where no ready-made screen fits: rectangular (the most common), arched (rounded top, our original craft), round (bullseye, porthole) and asymmetric (trapezoid, different heights or widths, typical in loft conversions). On those shapes the cut is based on a precise survey: the configurator tells you which measurements to take in each case.

Roller blind, fixed frame or magnetic: which one suits you?

Let us be straight about it: we do not make roller fly screens. It is a frequent question, and the honest answer depends on how you live with the opening, not on our catalogue.

A roller screen makes sense if you want the mesh to disappear completely for part of the year and you accept drilling to fit a cassette. Expect several hundred euros per opening, fitting included. A fixed frame suits a window you rarely open, but it screws on and you cannot walk through it. A magnetic fly screen needs no drilling at all, is walked through hands-free, comes off in minutes and stores flat out of season. That is what we make, and it is what makes sense on a daily doorway or in a rented home.

How much does a made-to-measure fly screen cost?

The price depends on the type of opening and on the dimensions, not on a flat rate. Entry prices start at 29.99 € for a window or a door, and at 99.99 € for a large multi-panel opening. The exact price appears in your basket as soon as you confirm your configuration, and you order straight away online.

Two levers bring the bill down: quantity discounts (−10 % on 2 screens, −20 % on 4), and starting with the openings that are genuinely exposed rather than doing the whole house at once. We set out the real ranges, item by item, in our article on the price of a made-to-measure fly screen.

Made-to-measure fly screen questions, answered

How long does a made-to-measure screen take?

Configurable models can be ordered directly online. For a special configuration, describe it in the configurator's comment box: we make it to measure.

How do I measure my opening?

It depends on your fitting method. The configurator shows the exact method at each step, and our guide walks through how to measure your opening step by step.

How much does a custom fly screen cost?

From 29.99 € for a window or a door, and from 99.99 € for a large opening. The exact price appears in your basket as soon as you confirm your configuration, and you order straight away online.

What is the difference with a standard size?

A standard size works if your opening happens to land on a common format. As soon as it is a few centimetres off, the mesh creases or leaves a gap, and that is exactly where mosquitoes get in. Made-to-measure removes that compromise.

Do you make custom roller fly screens?

No. We make magnetic fly screens, drill-free and removable. A roller screen needs a permanently fitted cassette, so drilling and a much higher budget. If that is what you are after, better to know straight away. Want the full side-by-side? Read our retractable vs magnetic comparison.

Can it really be fitted without drilling?

Yes. The magnetic strip and the adhesive hook-and-loop go on without tools and without holes, and come off cleanly. It is all covered in our fitting guide.

Is it suitable for a rented home?

Yes, and that is the most common use case: nothing is drilled or altered, the strips leave no residue, and the screen moves house with you.

Which shapes are possible?

Rectangular, arched, round and asymmetric, for windows, doors, sliding patio doors, roof windows and pergolas.
