A window that is just too wide, a sliding patio door, a crooked roof light or an arched top: not every opening fits a standard size. A made-to-measure fly screen from Moskera is cut and sewn to your own measurements, to the centimetre. Custom window screens
This is the most common request, and the one where the gap between standard and custom shows up fastest. Window frames are rarely true, especially in older housing: a few millimetres of difference between top and bottom is enough to leave a way in. A custom window screen is therefore built to your real measurements and held by a self-adhesive magnetic strip around the frame. No hook-and-loop on this model, nothing to drill, and it comes off without a mark at the end of the season.

Custom screen doors and sliding patio doors
On a doorway you use ten times a day, what matters is no longer just the fit but the self-closing seal. Our door models carry magnets down the full height: you walk through with your hands full and the screen shuts tight behind you. Beyond roughly 150 cm wide you move up a range. A custom sliding patio door screen then works as several panels joined by magnetic seams: from 1 to 5 separations and more, depending on how many walk-throughs you want. Two details make the difference at those widths: MagnetX™ magnets of 15 cm instead of 4, and galvanised steel gravity bars along the whole bottom edge, which stop the mesh lifting in the wind. Every shape, including the awkward ones
Made-to-measure earns its keep on unusual openings, where no ready-made screen fits: rectangular (the most common), arched (rounded top, our original craft), round (bullseye, porthole) and asymmetric (trapezoid, different heights or widths, typical in loft conversions). On those shapes the cut is based on a precise survey: the configurator tells you which measurements to take in each case.
Roller blind, fixed frame or magnetic: which one suits you?
Let us be straight about it: we do not make roller fly screens. It is a frequent question, and the honest answer depends on how you live with the opening, not on our catalogue.
A roller screen makes sense if you want the mesh to disappear completely for part of the year and you accept drilling to fit a cassette. Expect several hundred euros per opening, fitting included. A fixed frame suits a window you rarely open, but it screws on and you cannot walk through it. A magnetic fly screen needs no drilling at all, is walked through hands-free, comes off in minutes and stores flat out of season. What is the difference with a standard size?
A standard size works if your opening happens to land on a common format. As soon as it is a few centimetres off, the mesh creases or leaves a gap, and that is exactly where mosquitoes get in. Made-to-measure removes that compromise.
Do you make custom roller fly screens?
No. We make magnetic fly screens, drill-free and removable. A roller screen needs a permanently fitted cassette, so drilling and a much higher budget. If that is what you are after, better to know straight away.
Can it really be fitted without drilling?
Yes. The magnetic strip and the adhesive hook-and-loop go on without tools and without holes, and come off cleanly. It is all covered in our fitting guide.
Is it suitable for a rented home?
Yes, and that is the most common use case: nothing is drilled or altered, the strips leave no residue, and the screen moves house with you.

Made to measure for Irish homes
Irish windows are rarely a standard size, the climate is hard on adhesive, and the insect that actually spoils an evening here is smaller than a mosquito. Three things worth knowing before you order.
The openings that need a custom size
- uPVC casement windows: the most common joinery in Irish housing, and almost never the size a stock screen comes in. Fitted to the outer frame so the window still opens out.
- Sash windows in Georgian and Victorian houses: the screen goes on the outer frame, the sash slides freely behind it.
- Patio and French doors onto the garden: measured opening to opening, made in one piece with a magnetic closure where you walk through.
- Velux and other roof windows in a converted attic.
Midges: the real problem
Mosquitoes are the least of it here. What comes through an ordinary screen on a still evening, especially near water or in the west, is the midge. Our weave is tight enough to stop midges as well as flies and mosquitoes, and still lets the air move, which matters in a house you want to air out rather than seal up.
Fitting in a damp climate
Adhesive is the part the Irish weather tests. Wipe the frame down and let it dry completely: a uPVC frame that feels dry to the touch on a damp morning often is not. Pick a mild, dry part of the day, press the strip on firmly along its whole length, and give it a few hours before hanging the screen. Done properly it holds through the season; done on a wet frame it will lift at the corners within weeks.
Renting, and rented apartments
No drilling, no screws, no holes in the frame: nothing to make good when the lease ends, and the screen comes with you. That is the practical reason most renters choose a made-to-measure magnetic screen rather than a fixed frame they would have to leave behind.
