Quick to install, easy to use and built to last, it's the ideal choice for UK homes during the summer months.
The Best Magnetic Flyscreen Door for Your Home
Choosing a magnetic fly screen door means choosing reliable, long-lasting insect protection for your home. Unlike traditional screen doors, this magnetic door screen closes automatically behind you every single time - no more flies sneaking in while your hands are full or your kids are running in and out. It combines hands-free convenience, solid insect control and effortless DIY installation, making it one of the most popular fly screen solutions for front doors, back doors, garden doors, French doors and patio doors across the UK.
Heavy-Duty, Durable Mesh
The quality of the mesh makes all the difference in a magnetic flyscreen. This screen is made from a fine, reinforced polyester mesh that blocks out flies, mosquitoes, wasps and other insects while allowing fresh air and natural light to flow freely into your home. The mesh is tough enough to handle high-traffic use, resist tearing, and stand up to daily wear - including homes with kids and pets coming in and out all day long.
Super Strong Heavy-Duty Magnets
The heavy-duty magnets built into the full length of the magnetic fly screen door ensure a fast, automatic and complete seal after every single pass-through. This powerful magnetic closure system means the flyscreen closes on its own - instantly and silently - keeping flies and mosquitoes out without you having to think about it. It's exactly this self-closing mechanism that makes the magnetic door screen so practical for busy UK households.
Compatibility - Fits Most UK Door Types
This magnetic fly screen door is designed to fit a wide range of door types and opening configurations, including front doors, back doors, garden doors, French doors, patio doors, windows, conservatory doors and balcony doors. Flexible and fully adjustable, it suits most standard door frames found in UK homes and is equally suitable for renters and homeowners alike, as no drilling or permanent fixings are required.
Front Door, Back Door & Garden Door
Fitted to your front door, back door or garden door, the magnetic flyscreen lets you keep the door wide open to let fresh air in, without letting a single fly or mosquito through. It attaches quickly to your door frame with adhesive velcro strips, requires no drilling and no tools, making it a perfect DIY solution for both homeowners and renters.
Patio Door, French Doors & Conservatory Door
The magnetic fly screen door is also perfectly suited to patio doors, French doors and conservatory doors, among the most popular entry points in UK homes.. It lets you enjoy your garden or outdoor space freely, without the annoyance of flies and insects following you inside, whether you're entertaining, enjoying a summer evening, or simply letting the fresh air through.
Custom Fit - Trimmable to Size
Thanks to its flexible, adjustable design, the magnetic fly screen door can be easily trimmed to fit your specific door opening. Simply cut it to size with scissors, the mesh won't fray, for a neat, custom fit that delivers maximum insect protection no matter the size of your door, patio opening or conservatory entrance.
The Irish Back Door, the Patio Door and the Sunroom
The door that matters in an Irish house is the one into the kitchen or the utility, not the one visitors use. It is also, in a lot of the country, the one that opens towards a yard.
The back door of a bungalow
The bungalow and the dormer are the classic Irish one off house, and their back door opens straight into the kitchen or the utility. It stands open while the dinner is on, while boots come off and while things go out, and in a rural setting it faces the part of the property flies are already interested in. That single opening is where most of them get in.
The sunroom
A sunroom is glazed on three sides and becomes uncomfortably warm the moment the sun is out, which means its doors are open whenever the room is worth sitting in. That happens to be the evening, which is when midges and moths are moving. It is also a room with very little solid surface to fix anything to, so a panel adhered to the door frame is the practical route rather than a fitted frame.
Patio doors and French doors
On French doors the second leaf is usually bolted and only one side is used, so a single panel across the whole opening closes the side you never touch as well. On an older sliding patio door, check along the bottom track: a worn brush seal leaves a gap that stays open whatever you do with the door.
A word on midges
If you are on the western side of the country and midges rather than flies are the complaint, a standard insect mesh will not hold them and a fine midge mesh is what is needed. We would rather say so than have you find out after fitting.
When to fit
May and June. The Irish season is short and it does not announce itself far in advance, and a made to measure panel is produced after the order rather than picked off a shelf.
