How to measure properly? (Method A or B)A: Measuring the opening frame?
➜ Add +4 cm to the width and +4 cm to the height (the Velcro strips are 2 cm wide on the sides and 4 cm at the top).
B: Measuring the final application frame (outside / inside)?
➜ Don’t add anything, measure right down to the floor.
Worried it might be too long?
➜ You can slightly fold the bottom of the fly screen without affecting its use.
Tip: round your measurements up to the nearest centimetre
➜ Better a bit bigger than too small 😉
Installation video below:Carefully clean the frame of your door with a damp cloth, then let it dry for 1 minute.
Unroll the double-sided tape, measure it, then cut it into 3 pieces (2 equal heights and 1 width).
Remove the adhesive backing from each strip, then apply them around the edge of your frame (except at the bottom).
Press firmly on each Velcro strip to ensure maximum hold. If needed, add extra tape or small nails depending on your frame type.
Attach and align the magnetic fly screen, Velcro to Velcro. Check positioning and adjust if necessary. Enjoy your screen and a bug-free summer!
🔹 Note: The magnets are already integrated and discreetly hidden in the centre strip of the fly screen.
No worries. Select the Custom Size option that fits, then enter your exact dimensions (e.g.: 244 × 182 cm, width × height).

I only just mounted my brand new moskill flyscreen for our bifold door.
It looks great, fits perfectly, works and was very easy to fit
We’re really happy with the finished product, it came well packed in a box that we’ll be able to reuse for storage off-season. Easy to install, and a lot less noticeable than we expected.
Both the dog and the cat go through without any issues, and the screen closes back up perfectly. Highly recommend!
I was skeptical of ordering from a Facebook ad but the product is well made and fits our space perfectly. We had made to measure as our bifolds have 5 panels and no one could find a solution for a regular fly screen or retractable. Fast delivery and great communication and instructions for measuring and installation.
From the moment I reached out to Moskill and all the way until my screen was installed, I have had an amazing experience. Super easy to install and enjoy immediately. I ordered the custom large with an offset split which landed right where I wanted it. I even got to brush up on my French with the enclosed directions. We are so happy with the results, you can't even see the screen when you are sitting in the room; and its lovely to be able to sit with the door open to allow the breezes to enter but nothing else!!
Well done, Moskill! I will be singing your praises to whomever will listen.

A magnetic fly screen for patio doors and sliding doors is one of the simplest and most effective solutions for keeping mosquitoes, flies, and other insects out of your home while maintaining good airflow. Thanks to the built-in magnetic system, the screen closes automatically after every pass-through, allowing you to keep the patio door or sliding door wide open without letting pests inside.
Unlike fixed or sliding fly screen doors, a magnetic fly screen installs quickly and generally requires no drilling at all. It attaches directly to the door frame using adhesive strips or hook-and-loop tape. This straightforward installation makes it the ideal solution for renters or anyone looking for easy, hassle-free insect protection that leaves no damage or marks when removed.
The best magnetic fly screen for patio doors also stands out for the quality of its mesh. A fine, durable fibre glass mesh effectively blocks insects while still allowing light and air to flow through freely. Some models are additionally reinforced to withstand frequent passage, which is particularly handy for busy households with children or pets.
Finally, choosing a magnetic fly screen sized to fit your patio door or sliding door is essential for proper protection. Adjustable models or those available in a range of sizes make it easy to cover large openings, which are common in modern Australian, British, and New Zealand homes with wide glass sliding or bi-fold doors.
Practical, unobtrusive, and affordable, the magnetic fly screen for patio doors and sliding doors is now one of the most popular solutions for enjoying summer without the nuisance of insects indoors.
A fly screen for a patio door without drilling is the ideal solution for protecting your home from mosquitoes and other insects without damaging the door frame. This is precisely the kind of product Moskera offers: fly screens designed for easy self-installation, with no tools and no modifications required.
Moskera fly screens attach directly to the door frame using a strong adhesive system. This simple installation lets you fit the screen in just a few minutes, while still being able to remove it whenever needed. This solution is especially popular with renters or anyone who does not want to drill into their door frame, as it comes away cleanly without leaving any residue or marks.
Thanks to the magnetic closure system, Moskera magnetic fly screens open easily as you pass through and then snap shut automatically behind you. This lets you move freely between indoors and outdoors while keeping mosquitoes, flies, and other insects reliably outside.
Moskera's fly screens for patio doors are also designed to cover large openings. Their tough fibre glass mesh lets air and light pass through while forming an effective barrier against insects, so you can enjoy the cool breeze during the warm months without compromise.
Easy to install, practical for everyday use, and effective against pests, the Moskera fly screen for patio door without drilling is a straightforward solution for making the most of your outdoor living space in total comfort.
Large fly screens are particularly useful for protecting big openings that lead directly outside. Patio doors, pergolas, and garages are common entry points for mosquitoes, flies, and other insects. Installing the right fly screen lets you enjoy fresh air while keeping pests out of your home and outdoor living areas.
Depending on the location and how the opening is used, different types of fly screens can be installed to provide effective protection while staying practical day to day.
Sliding patio doors and bi-fold doors are very common in Australian, British, and New Zealand homes, but they also create a large opening through which insects can easily get inside. A large fly screen allows you to cover the full width of the patio door or bi-fold door while still being able to move freely in and out.
Magnetic fly screens are especially well suited to this type of installation. They open easily as you walk through and close automatically thanks to the magnets, so the patio door or sliding door can stay open without letting in mosquitoes.
A pergola is an ideal spot for enjoying the outdoors, but it can quickly become uncomfortable when insects are around. Installing a large fly screen around the pergola creates a proper insect-free zone where you can relax and entertain without being bothered.
Some fly screens can be hung like curtains along the sides of the structure, allowing the space to be enclosed while still letting air circulate freely. This means you can enjoy long summer evenings outside without mosquitoes ruining the experience.
The garage can also be a significant entry point for insects, especially when it stays open during warm weather. A large fly screen fitted at the garage entrance keeps insects out while still allowing people to pass through easily.
Magnetic models are often the preferred choice here, as they allow easy hands-free passage and close automatically after each use. This is a practical solution for keeping the garage well ventilated without letting mosquitoes or other insects settle inside.
Fly screens are not just for patio doors and sliding doors. They can also be fitted to many other doors and windows throughout the home to protect every opening against mosquitoes and other insects.
For example, a fly screen can be used on a front door, a French door leading to a terrace, or on windows of any size. In all of these situations, the fly screen keeps the opening accessible while reliably preventing mosquitoes, flies, and other pests from getting inside.
Alongside fly screens for patio doors, Moskera also offers fly screens for doors and fly screens for windows. These solutions make it easy to tailor protection to every type of opening and ensure an effective insect barrier throughout the whole home.
The wide opening onto the deck is where most of this ends up, and it is also where the measuring goes wrong most often, because there is more than one defensible answer to what you are actually covering.
On a two panel ranchslider, one leaf slides behind the fixed one, so you only ever get roughly half the span open at a time. You can screen the full run, in which case the screen stays put whatever the doors are doing, or only the half that opens, in which case it has to be sized to that leaf and it will not cover the opening if you later change how you use the door. Both are reasonable. They are very different measurements and it is worth settling before you get the tape out.
Newer New Zealand builds increasingly open the whole wall, either by stacking panels or with bifolds, and some open a corner with no post at all. Bifolds need one extra thought: the leaves fold back against the jamb and project into the reveal, so the screen has to be fixed to the architrave outside that stack. Measure with the doors folded fully open, not closed. A corner opening is two runs, not one, and is measured as two.
Take the width at top, middle and bottom, and the height at both ends and the centre, then use the smallest of each. A three metre span will show a discrepancy that a bedroom window never would, and older houses on piles move. A panel cut to your numbers fits nobody else's opening, so it cannot be returned, which is the reason to spend the extra ten minutes.
A screen across a wide opening is a large surface and New Zealand gives it plenty to work with, particularly through Wellington and the Cook Strait, and on any exposed coastal site. The practical advantage of a magnetic panel over a fixed one at this width is that it comes down in a couple of minutes when the forecast turns and goes back up just as fast. Salt air on a coastal site is also the reason to clean the fixing surface properly rather than quickly.
Everything above assumes mosquitoes and houseflies. If sandflies are your actual problem, which they are on the West Coast and through Fiordland, a standard insect mesh will not hold them and a fine midge mesh is what the job needs.
